1 FreeTDS is a set of libraries for Unix and Linux that allows
2 your programs to natively talk to Microsoft SQL Server and
3 Sybase databases.
5 Technically speaking, FreeTDS is an open source implementation
6 of the TDS (Tabular Data Stream) protocol used by these
7 databases for their own clients.
8 It supports many different flavors of the protocol and three
9 APIs to access it.
10 Additionally FreeTDS works with other software such as Perl
11 and PHP, providing access from those languages as well.
