1 LVM2 refers to the userspace toolset that provide logical volume management
2 facilities on linux.
3 It is reasonably backwards-compatible with the original LVM toolset.
5 To use LVM2 you need 3 things:
6 - device-mapper in your kernel,
7 - the userspace device-mapper support library (libdevmapper) and
8 - the userspace LVM2 tools.
