103 The SliTaz GNU/Linux is an international association based in
104 Switzerland and respects the Swiss Civil Code. The association is
105 comprised of a committee and members and provides financial and
106 staff remuneration. Members meet once a year at a general meeting and
107 decide for example, the activities of the association or the membership
108 fees. Each member has a right to vote on individual proposals and can
109 use the hardware (inc. cdrom, T-shirts) of the association to help setup
110 a working group to organize events.

113 The project takes on the scale and demands of the
114 professional world more and more frequently and the creation of the
115 association is seen as something of a necessity. We chose an association
116 economic model to meet the needs of the project and also provide solid and high
117 quality services to our users and business partners who wish to sponser
118 the project.

130 SliTaz is a project using the open development model and all the
131 work is done by a community of volunteers. Our goal is to improve and
132 provide better organization of contributions. The project's
133 friendliness, support, update sites, maintenance services, technical
134 support and management teams are topics that we would like to
135 address and professionalize.

138 To achieve this, we would ideally like 1 or 2 developers
139 to work part-time or full-time on SliTaz. They would have
140 the responsibility to consolidate and optimize existing systems while
141 dealing with new demands. The various sub-projects would also be more
142 dynamic and would see new features published much more frequently.

148 The association is open to any persons. Becoming a member
149 allows you to support the project and ensure its sustainability through an
150 annual fee.
