1 The libffi library provides a portable, high level programming interface
2 to various calling conventions. This allows a programmer to call any
3 function specified by a call interface description at run-time.
5 FFI stands for Foreign Function Interface. A foreign function interface
6 is the popular name for the interface that allows code written in one
7 language to call code written in another language.
8 The libffi library really only provides the lowest, machine dependent
9 layer of a fully featured foreign function interface.
10 A layer must exist above libffi that handles type conversions for values
11 passed between the two languages.
