1 Collectd gathers metrics from various sources, e.g. the operating system,
2 applications, logfiles and external devices, and stores this information
3 or makes it available over the network.
4 Those statistics can be used to monitor systems, find performance
5 bottlenecks (i.e. performance analysis) and predict future system load
6 (i.e. capacity planning).
7 Or if you just want pretty graphs of your private server and are fed up
8 with some homegrown solution you're at the right place, too ;).
