1 GNU Libextractor is a library used to extract meta data from files.
2 The goal is to provide developers of file-sharing networks, browsers
3 or WWW-indexing bots with a universal library to obtain simple
4 keywords and meta data to match against queries and to show to users
5 instead of only relying on filenames.
6 Libextractor contains the shell command extract that, similar to the
7 well-known file command, can extract meta data from a file and print
8 the results to stdout.
