paul@241 20 The SliTaz project is proud to announce a new Cooking version of the
paul@241 21 LiveCD. It allows you to utilize and test the work done in recent months,
paul@241 22 it contains many new features, bug fixes and several updates. The
paul@241 23 distribution now includes a tiny control center, easily managed WiFi
paul@241 24 via Netbox and tazndis, a lighter version of ndiswrapper to use non-free
paul@241 25 Windows network card drivers. Perl is now on the cdrom (with Lua removed).
paul@241 26 WiFi support is also accompanied by support for NTFS partitions, so
paul@241 27 mplayer had to be dropped from the default packages that make up the
paul@241 28 heart of the LiveCD. The Tazpkg manager has been greatly improved, it
paul@241 29 allows the preservation of configuration files, software to be updated
paul@241 30 according to the construction (build) date on the server, log files to
paul@241 31 be kept when the packages are actioned, and several fixes have been
paul@241 32 applied. Also improved are the boot scripts, and the LiveCD tool
paul@241 33 (Tazlito) is now more coherent. The Cooking repository now contains more
paul@241 34 than 1100 packages thanks to the SliTaz developers. You can download this
paul@241 35 new version from one of the official mirrors of the project.

paul@127 45 SliTaz project members are proud to announce the availability of a new
paul@127 46 Cooking version, including many new features and bug fixes. This version
paul@127 47 provides the boot option web which lets you boot SliTaz from the internet
paul@127 48 using gPXE from boot.slitaz.org. This new unique service offers the
paul@127 49 possibility to use SliTaz in Live mode (all in RAM), using the Live options
paul@127 50 to store your data permanently and preconfigure the system. This new Cooking
paul@127 51 takes an extra 3 Mb so we can provide: a multimedia player with MPlayer, a
paul@127 52 notes manager with Notecase, a new version of Tazpkg package manager with
paul@127 53 md5sum support, XFS filesystem support built into the Kernel, a 'man' command
paul@127 54 and a few updates. This version requires at least 160 Mb to boot and run
paul@127 55 properly, we offer loram flavors for machines with less resources.

paul@127 65 Summer time is here and also the new Cooking from the 26 June. A lot

paul@127 68 modules, linux package was also split to have a fairly modular Kernel.
paul@127 69 Default user has changed to tux and the new option
paul@127 70 user=name lets you choose the default user name. Most
paul@127 71 of the Slitaz utils and tools have been improved: tazpkgbox provides
paul@127 72 some new commands for package management and bootfloppybox can be used in
paul@127 73 text mode, Netbox wifi and PPPoE support are now both working well and
paul@127 74 a new function called zeroconf is available. Most packages are up-to-date
paul@127 75 and Firefox 3.0 is part of the 25.2 Mb ISO. Cooking version can be
paul@127 76 downloaded from SliTaz mirror. Bugs can be reported on SliTaz Bug
