1.82 + 10 Apr 2012 - SliTaz GNU/Linux 4.0 Release
1.83 +

1.84 + The SliTaz contributors are pleased to announce the release of
1.85 + the new stable distribution SliTaz GNU/Linux 4.0. Two years of
1.86 + community work have created a reliable system capable of even
1.87 + shorter boot times with more than 1000 new installable packages.
1.88 +

1.89 +

1.90 + SliTaz provides a complete graphical desktop in 35 MB based
1.91 + on LXDE and Openbox that works entirely in 192MB of RAM. Its
1.92 + new 4in1 CD image can be installed on a hard drive with only 48MB
1.93 + by automatically selecting a configuration most fully suited to
1.94 + your hardware.
1.95 +

1.96 +

1.97 + The home-made tools have grown. Tazpkg brings a new notification
1.98 + system and is much faster despite the increase in the number of
1.99 + packages and Tazpanel enables a new centralized management system.
1.100 + You can read the full Release Notes

1.107 + 03 Mar 2012 - SliTaz 4.0-RC2 is out
1.108 +

1.109 + The Slitaz team is pleased to announce the new SliTaz 4.0-RC2 release
1.110 + candidate. We have done a huge amount of work fixing bugs from RC1 and
1.111 + on end-user home made tools such as TazPKG, TazPanel and TazUSB. Wifi
1.112 + connection is made easier via TazPanel or the new wifibox. TazPKG has
1.113 + better desktop integration and a new notification system.
1.114 +

1.115 +

1.116 + This new version comes with a full Xorg package and DRI support as
1.117 + well as the nv, intel, geode and vesa drivers working out-of-the-box.
1.118 + We have also rebuilt all packages once again and saved ~2Mb in the
1.119 + core LiveCD, so we now include Lxrandr, Parcellite and the
1.120 + transmission BiTorrent client.
1.121 +

1.122 +

1.123 + We want to thank everyone who tested the first release candidate; this
1.124 + RC2 is close to the upcoming SliTaz 4.0 version planned in 2 weeks.
1.125 + Download the RC2 ISO image from our mirror (35,1 Mb):

1.133 + The SliTaz contributor team is pleased to announce the immediate
1.134 + availability of the first release candidate for SliTaz 4.0. SliTaz can
1.135 + boot in 10-12 seconds on fairly new hardware and with the new 4in1 ISO
1.136 + you can install a full SliTaz desktop with only 48MB of RAM. The 4in1
1.137 + ISO is able to auto detect the memory and can boot SliTaz in text mode,
1.138 + to a minimal X environment or a full graphical desktop.
1.139 +

1.140 +

1.141 + SliTaz 4.0 will have more than 3000 well tested packages in its
1.142 + repository and the RC series lets us track the latest bugs. From our last
1.143 + Cooking release the packages have all been rebuilt twice to ensure build
1.144 + quality.
1.145 +

1.146 +

1.147 + This RC2 ISO will prompt you with a new graphical menu and a graphical
1.148 + language and keyboard set up. The ISO features a new desktop layout and
1.149 + artwork as well as a new command line installer with a CGI/web interface
1.150 + accessible via TazPanel. You can download this new ISO from our mirror:
