pankso@411 20 The SliTaz project are proud to announce the release of the new stable
pankso@411 21 version of the distribution - SliTaz GNU/Linux 2.0. This new version is the
pankso@411 22 result of one year of community work and provides an ultra lightweight, fast,
pankso@411 23 scalable and stable operating system. SliTaz provides a complete graphical
pankso@411 24 desktop in less than 30MB, applications required for a reliable and robust
pankso@411 25 server environment and 1400 easily installable software packages in a few
pankso@411 26 clicks of the mouse. This new version offers the automounting of partitions
pankso@411 27 (NTFS compliant), wifi support, an office respecting the Freedesktop.org
pankso@411 28 standards (drag and drop), network booting with gPXE and
pankso@411 29 boot.slitaz.org, automatic detection
pankso@411 30 of USB and PCI devices, a GUI package manager and control center, and various
pankso@411 31 graphical tools to manage the distribution. The creation of USB media and
pankso@411 32 bootable LiveCD flavors is also simplified and greatly improved. The core
pankso@411 33 LiveCD includes Firefox 3.0.8, gFTP, LostIRC, ePDFView, mtPaint, Transmission,
pankso@411 34 Osmo and Alsaplayer. The site documentation is updated and you can read the
pankso@411 35 release notes included in
pankso@411 36 the distribution for more details on this stable version. SliTaz GNU/Linux
pankso@411 37 2.0 is now downloadable from the official mirrors of
pankso@411 38 the project.

paul@355 48 Continually seeking to improve the distribution and the services we
paul@355 49 offer, we are proud to announce the launch of SliTaz Labs. This
paul@355 50 platform makes it possible for contributors to collaborate more
paul@355 51 effectively, report bugs or request new features. The Labs provide
paul@355 52 each project with a wiki, a bug/issues tracker, news, etc. The
paul@355 53 laboratories provide an overview of activity on the project and track
paul@355 54 the release of regular updates. Register to participate and leave a
paul@355 55 comment. The project is also proud to announce 2 new mirrors: In
paul@355 56 Switzerland, hosted by SWITCHmirror (10 Gbits/s) and hosted in China
paul@355 57 by LupaWorld, thanks for supporting us.
